Regarding both of us...

Robbie Mas is/was a "stage" name for myself, Roberta Masciarelli.

I studied Architecture and have been a graphic designer for more than 20 years.

The way that I always used to process the creation inputs was through the left side of the brain to create a design piece - planned and clean.

When I felt the need for getting away from the computer and starting to paint, I couldn't do it.
I was blocked.

What I was feeling like doing was in conflict with my own design rules - colors, shapes - that didn't match to what I felt about art.

So, Robbie Mas was born.

Robbie was free, just doing, without thinking too much. Thinking was for Roberta.

The colors don't match? no problem.
Would Roberta agree with these colors together? Never!
The shapes are not perfect? Good!

And the overal result was a explosion of colors and shapes that were spontaneous and joyful. Of course I loved being Robbie!

But when Robbie started to complicate her artwork, Roberta's thinking/planning process was needed to solve them.

Today my work is a mixture of my two sides - left and right - strongly connected.
It is a bridge, a common sense between both of us.
