Solstices Series - The energy pathways

The Solstices are a series of four paintings, that I started in Summer 2009.

On the day of the Summer Solstice, July 21 2009 I painted two of them: Summer-Upwards and Summer-Downwards. On December 21 2009 - I started painting two more - Winter-Downwards and Winter-Upwards.

As energy exchanges betweeen the Earth and the Cosmos, in the 'downwards' the energy is pouring down to the Earth. In 'upwards' we are sending this energy back to the cosmos, already transformed.
