A Day in A Hospital
Assemblage sculpture with electronic and pharmaceutical waste
30x12x5.5
I created this artwork reflecting about a hospital as part of the human experience.
At some point in life, nearly everyone will either stay in or visit one.
Here, I wanted to approach the subject without judgment and see it for what it is: its architecture is designed first and foremost to function.
It does not need to be pleasant; if it is, that becomes is a bonus.
The structure is rigid and complex, with departments connected through a web of corridors, systems, and technology. Within it are people who work selflessly and with dedication.
And an invisible authority — almost like an all-seeing eye — connects and oversees everything.
It also represents power, belonging to a powerful system, one that can provide care and save lives, yet remains an expensive experience and inaccessible to many.
